Baby Sutherland.. Update :)

Since the day we found out we were going to be parents, I have hated the thought of the every so talked about blood glucose test. Well, yesterday was the day and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. To ensure that I would pass, I did not eat one single carbohydrate prior to my appointment. I did not want to stack any of the cards against me. When I arrived at the doctor they took be right back to the lab where I was given an orange drink that contained 50g of glucose. Yum! It had to be consumed in five minutes and the lady just stared at me. Awkward. The drink just tasted like a melted orange Popsicle, which was never my favorite color as a kid but I managed. The results came back and I passed and this means I do not have to take the 3 hour glucose test! YAY! I just didn't want to fail and have to go meet with one of those crazy dietitians.. :)

Baby Sutherland is doing great and measuring in at 27 1/2 weeks, which is right on target! Heartbeat was 135-145 beats per minute and he continues to be very active. Jared and I are getting more and more excited each day for him to arrive. Hurry Up November!

27 weeks and only 13 more weeks to go!

Baby is the size of a head of cauliflower. Our baby is as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds. (Length: about 14 1/2 inches.)

Who doesn't love the sight of Purple! Just getting ready for football season!

Baby Sutherland's Room

We had nice shelf already in the room, so Jared came up with an idea to add in a rod to hang clothes for baby Sutherland!

Barkley was tired after all of this hard work!

We have searched, searched and finally found a dresser that is perfect for our baby boy! I have never been so happy about a piece of furniture but we looked all over the place and this ended up being perfect!

Approximately 98 More Days!

This sight of my Big Day countdown hitting less then 100 days made me so excited! I know that we still have a long time until we get to hold our baby boy but at least we are now in the double digits!

Today marks the 26th Week....
Baby is the size of an English hothouse cucumber. Our baby is as tall as an English hothouse cucumber and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds. (Length: 14 inches, head to heel.)

Wonderful Weekend at the Lake

We spent the past weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks! The weather was beautiful and the sales on baby boy clothes were Amazing! We were able to purchase many outfits for our baby boy! Below is a picture of some cute shoes we purchased. Jared also found a very cute pair of Hurley jeans.. I didn't even know they made them so tiny!

Its safe to say that this little boy is going to be very Blessed!(I don't like to use the word spoiled)

Our family went for a nice little hike at Ha Ha Tonka State Park! Barkley enjoyed the nice little walk and the trail was amazing! I had taken a hike at this park many years ago with my cousins Cory and Mitch. Our grandfather took us but the weather was over a 100 degrees and not a very fun hike! After Saturdays trip I have better memory of Ha Ha Tonka!

This was Baby Sutherland's second trip to the lake house! The first time we told my parents they were going to be grandparents!

25 weeks and Growing

How our baby's growing

Head to heels, our baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, we would now be able to discern its color and texture. If the old wives tale holds true, our baby boy will have a full head of hair. Heartburn comes on even after drinking a glass of water! At least tums provide extra calcium, which I am sure I am short on that! :)

And We have a Name...

Today at 10:50 am Jared and I were able to decide on a full name for our little boy! We are so excited to share the name with the world.... November can't come soon enough! So for now he is just our little Turkey!

24 weeks down and only 16 weeks to go!

Baby Sutherland is the size of an ear of corn. Our baby has caught up with an ear of corn in size and gained about 1/4 pound since last week. Jared joked that when they told us we was weighing in at 1 lb that he only had 9 more pounds to go. This did not make me laugh at all. My mother's only concern was he wouldn't fit in the diapers she purchased.. Guess labor and delivery is not a concern to them.

23 weeks: Baby is the size of a large mango. Our baby boy weighs about as much as a large mango -- just over a pound. (Length: more than 11 inches.)

Each we week continue to make our way through the produce section!

The slow progress of Baby Sutherland's Room....

We have been very busy this summer and only spent weekdays at our home in June. So the month of July we spent a lot of time cleaning out our extra bedroom to make room for our little boy!
First picture is his room all filled with the junk we need to take to Goodwill or thrown in the trash!

He now has a Bed!!!

And Barkley likes it!

The room is finally clean and ready for more baby items!

I have a feeling that we will spend many nights rocking. The rocking chair is very near and dear to my heart. My great-grandmother Annie gave it to my dad, it was the first rocking chair she purchased at an auction. We still have to find a side table but Barkley's closet will work for now! :)

Starting to get some of the fun items!
